1. Choose

The Lumo webstore service features a wide range of Lumo rental apartments throughout Finland. You can search for a new home based on criteria such as location, apartment size or the monthly rent.

2. Rent

When you find the apartment you’re looking for, you can rent it directly by yourself online, without middlemen or a security deposit. You are required to pay the first month’s rent when you rent the apartment.

3. Move

You can move in to the apartment you rent via the Lumo webstore on the date indicated in the apartment information. For apartments that are not yet completed, you can move in after the indicated date of completion.

Our satisfaction guarantee means you can cancel the tenancy agreement for your apartment at no cost if the apartment does not correspond to the pictures and description provided online.

Our satisfaction guarantee is aimed at ensuring that the apartment you rent is exactly as promised. As the decision to rent the apartment is made based on pictures and descriptive information, and the prospective tenant can’t see the apartment before renting it, we offer the opportunity to cancel the tenancy agreement at the time of the first visit to the apartment if the apartment does not correspond to the information provided. If the tenancy agreement is cancelled, we will refund the first month’s rent in its entirety in approximately five (5) working days and will not collect any cancellation fees.

Cancellation is possible in conjunction with visiting the apartment. We aim to arrange the visit within three business days of the tenancy agreement being made. A visit to the new and renovated apartments will be arranged at a time to be announced separately. The satisfaction guarantee is valid until you have had the chance to view the apartments and the materials used. If you decline to visit the apartment, you give up your right to cancel the tenancy agreement.

  • What is the Lumo webstore?

    The Lumo webstore is a new way to rent an apartment. Renting an apartment is done entirely online, with no application forms or waiting. The tenancy agreement is made and confirmed by paying the first month’s rent via an online bank or by credit card. No separate security deposit is required. We will contact you on the next business day to make an appointment for handing over the keys and visiting the apartment.

  • Can I see the apartment before renting it via the Lumo webstore?

    If you wish to make sure you get exactly the apartment you want, you need to make the decision to rent it immediately. For this reason, you do not have the opportunity to see the apartment in person before making the decision to rent it. Apartments cannot be reserved. Our satisfaction guarantee gives you the right to cancel the tenancy agreement in conjunction with visiting the apartment if the apartment does not correspond to the information provided in the Lumo webstore. We aim to arrange the visit within three business days of the tenancy agreement being made. A visit to the new and renovated apartments will be arranged at a time to be announced separately.   • How long is the tenancy agreement I make I sign by renting an apartment via the Lumo webstore?

    Your tenancy agreement becomes valid immediately once you have paid the first month’s rent. The tenancy agreement is a fixed-term agreement of three (3) months, which will be extended by an agreement valid until further notice, provided that neither party wishes to terminate the tenancy relationship at the end of the initial three-month period. If there are no problems related to your tenancy, we hope you will remain a Lumo tenant beyond the initial fixed-term period.

  • When can I move in to the apartment I rent via the Lumo webstore?

    You can move in to the apartment you rent via the Lumo webstore on the date indicated in the apartment information. For apartments that are not yet completed, you can move in after the indicated date of completion.

  • What should I do if I experience any problems when using the service?

  • What apartments are offered via the Lumo webstore?

    The Lumo webstore features a large proportion of the vacant and soon-to-be-vacant Lumo rental apartments, which number more than 30,000 across Finland. New apartments are added to the service every day, so we recommend that you subscribe to the Lumo webstore e-mail search alert service to be among the first to hear about new apartments matching your search criteria becoming available. The same apartments are also listed on the Lumo.fi website, where you can fill out an apartment application if you are not in a position to make the decision on renting the apartment immediately.

  • What if my credit rating is not good or I have arrears of rent payable to Kojamo plc?

    If your credit rating is not good or you have previous arrears payable to Kojamo plc, it is unfortunately not possible for you to rent an apartment directly via the Lumo webstore. Instead, you can submit an apartment application via the Lumo.fi website, which also features our full range of apartments.   • Can I rent an apartment together with my spouse/friend?

    Yes. Simply enter the required information for both tenants. In order to make the tenancy agreement, at least one of you must have a good credit rating and neither of you may have previous arrears payable to Kojamo plc. Both tenants must be over 18 years of age.

  • I also want to rent a parking space. Can I do that via this service as well?

    Information on the availability of parking places is displayed in the service and you can rent a parking place via the tenant website after making the tenancy agreement. At some of our properties, parking places are rented out by a parking company. The availability details for parking places at such properties are unfortunately not provided in the Lumo webstore.

  • What is the easiest way for me to keep track of new apartments that interest me in the Lumo webstore?

    Subscribe to the Lumo webstore e-mail search alert service and you will be among the first to hear about new apartments matching your search criteria becoming available. Follow these steps to subscribe: First, perform an apartment search in the Lumo webstore, then click the “Set up search alert” button on the result page and enter your e-mail address. You will receive a confirmation message in your e-mail. Click the link in the message to activate the search alert. You will then receive information on new vacant apartments matching your search criteria in your e-mail inbox within an hour. You can modify or cancel your search alert at any time by clicking the link provided at the end of the e-mail messages.

  • I am under 18 years of age - can I still rent an apartment via this service?

    Unfortunately not. If you are 16 or older, you can fill out an application for an apartment via the Lumo.fi service.
